Collection: SewVeeWade

SewVeeWade = cloth napkins and other sustainable home goods, handmade
in Maplewood, NJ. Portion of proceeds donated to abortion funds.
SewVeeWade was created by Mary Alice Carter in 2020. It honors her
commitment to reproductive health, rights, and justice and serves as a tribute
to her late mother.

During Covid, Mary Alice, like many people, picked up a craft she hadn't
worked on in years. She dove back into sewing by finishing some cloth
napkins her late mother started, using her old newspaper-cut pattern and
cherished fabric. Once she determined there were only so many cloth napkins
her own family could use, she decided to sell them and donate some of the
profits.

The name SewVeeWade is a play on Roe v. Wade, reflecting not only Mary
Alice’s two decades working in abortion rights advocacy but also that a portion
of the profits are donated to abortion funds.
