Elizabeth was produced by Franklin Heirloom Dolls in the early 1980s as part of its Queens of England collection. This particular doll reportedly spent most of her life displayed alone in the formal sitting room of a family home.
According to the story passed along with her, the original owner was unusually particular about where Elizabeth was kept. She was never placed with the other dolls in the house and was always positioned facing the doorway.
After the owner died, family members began moving items out of the room. Elizabeth was moved several times as well. Each time, someone apparently moved her back. At first, the family assumed another relative was doing it. Eventually, they stopped asking.
One family member later claimed that she woke while staying in the house and found Elizabeth sitting in a chair outside the guest bedroom. Another remembered hearing the faint sound of beads or pearls moving in the hallway at night.
There are no photographs or records confirming any of this.
What is known is that when the estate was finally cleared, the family kept nearly everything sentimental. They did not keep Elizabeth.

Reported Activity: Unexplained repositioning; rustling or movement of jewelry; persistent feeling of being watched.
Temperament: Reserved. Observant. Possibly territorial.
Protective Reputation: Despite the stories surrounding her, Elizabeth has never been associated with harm to the people who kept her. In fact, one branch of the family believed the opposite: that she became noticeably more active whenever the house felt “wrong.” Doors were reportedly found open after nightmares, lights flickered in rooms where guests later said they felt uneasy, and one former owner claimed Elizabeth’s position would change whenever unfamiliar people entered the home. The family eventually came to believe that, if treated respectfully, Elizabeth acted less like a haunting and more like a sentry.
Suggested care: Keep her somewhere she can see the room. Do not cover her face. An occasional dusting, fresh ribbon, or small token is considered polite. A content Elizabeth may discourage less welcome things from staying.
