Oddities Collection: The Two-Faced Mask

This ceramic mask was reportedly found among old props from a small community theater. No one remembered ever using it in a production, though several former volunteers remembered it being there.

Over time, it developed a reputation backstage. Performers claimed that wearing it caused disorientation, missed cues, and an unusual run of accidents. After one actor insisted the hallway had “changed” while she wore it, the stage manager tied ribbons through the sides so no one would put it on again. Years later, when the theater was cleared out, the mask was found sitting alone on a chair in an empty dressing room. No one remembered leaving it there.
